Substance use disorder typically lends itself to poor eating habits as well as abnormal diet. According to The National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA), up to 35% of individuals who have abused drugs or alcohol have also had an eating disorder. A rate 11 times greater than the general population.

The Importance of Nutritional Dining in Recovery

The abuse of alcohol and/or drugs can commonly lead to nutrient deficiencies throughout the body. Low levels of vitamins and minerals, as well as dehydration, are just a few of the more common issues that may arise due to malnutrition. Royal Life Centers offers a nutritional program that has been proven quite effective in the management of withdrawal symptoms as well as throughout early recovery.

Royal Life Centers aims to help guests with poor eating habits to re-establish healthy, sustainable dining choices. Our chefs prepare hearty, wholesome meals that jumpstart physical healing during the critical stages of early recovery.

We believe in the saying “you are what you eat”, so we avoid processed foods and refined sugars. Our meals incorporate complex carbohydrates, high-quality proteins, heart-healthy fats, as well as a mix of vitamins and minerals. A well-rounded diet is one of the most important aspects of overall health and well-being.
