Sober Living
Quality drug rehab centers offer their guests sober living options as a continuum of care following detox and inpatient care. Aftercare programs often incorporate sober living to provide a less restrictive form of treatment with outpatient visits at a frequency deemed appropriate by medical professionals and clinicians. Aftercare programs from Royal Life Centers include a partial-hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and outpatient program (OP). At this time, our aftercare programs are only available at our Washington locations.
Is Sober Living Right for Me?
Guests are welcome to reside in Royal Life Housing, Royal Life Centers’ sober housing, during all phases of aftercare at Royal Life Centers as a transition from a residential inpatient level of care. Following PHP, guests can continue their time with our recovery community at Royal Life Housing or return home.
Our optional sober living program is beneficial to guests re-entering daily life and is a continuation of our live-in sober support and resources provided during our residential inpatient program into the stages of our aftercare program. Additionally, Graduate Housing is offered for those who have completed our aftercare program in addition to obtaining employment.
Royal Life Centers understands that accountability, responsibility, and stability, are all extremely important for those in early recovery. To instill healthy habits, guests are responsible for the state of their living spaces. For example, guests make their beds, tend to their laundry, and keep bathrooms and kitchens clean. These tasks are encouraged to reintegrate the social skills necessary to live and work cooperatively with others. It’s also important that guests learn independence and good decision-making skills during this critical phase of their development. We hold all of our guests to these standards, while also allowing them the freedom to grow. The opportunity for this growth is everywhere at Royal Life Housing.
Royal Life Housing
After completing our inpatient programs, guests who would like to continue with us in our aftercare program most commonly will choose to live in our Sober Housing on property. Our Sober housing is only available to current guests who have completed our inpatient treatment programs. We model the responsibility of paying bills and budgeting with low weekly rent for a nice apartment or home that is fully furnished with cable/internet and is accompanied by the safety and security of a sober living staff nearby. Paying rent for sober housing begins after we help you find employment— in phase 2 of the 12-week program. Rent is a low weekly cost of $50 (weeks 4-8) and rises to $75 (weeks 9-12).
Guests in our 12-week program can stay at our housing for the duration of their treatment. Aftercare guests receive two $35 vouchers per week for groceries and essentials throughout their stay in our sober living residences. All Royal Life Housing and Graduate Housing properties feature spacious living rooms with flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi. Additionally, guests are provided comfortable bedrooms with TVs in every room, full-size kitchens, and on-site washers and dryers.
Our sober living staff is available 24/7 for support. Royal staff members enforce daily curfew check-ins and random drug testing, ensuring that guests are safe, sober, and accountable. Staff members perform hourly checks using a digital reader to record and document that each guest is safely in our care. Additionally, we provide transportation to once-daily mandatory 12-step meetings three times each day, as well as regular trips to the grocery store. Within Royal Life Centers’ sober living programs, we implement policies to ensure that our guests can successfully hold employment while continuing their role within the sober community.
