Bill Orick is our General Manager and is an active member of the Yavapai Adult Drug Court and DUI programs. Formerly a construction and maintenance worker, he is working towards his certificate in substance abuse therapy at Yavapai Community College.

Bill drank and used drugs for 32 years and tried many different times to quit but couldn't, until he found his higher power and asked for help. He received his help from the Drug Court program and Chapter 5. Bill has been clean and sober since November 2, 2005 and is fulfilling his promise to his higher power to help others in recovery. Bill is truly one of Chapter 5’s great success stories.

Daniel is the house manager of our 818 facility. He brings over twenty years of experience working in the field of addictions. He is a Licensed Substance Abuse Therapist and Acupuncture Detox Specialist. He is a Sundancer and Ceremonial leader. From 1997 to 2001, he provided healing services for Native American Veterans as the Native American Traditional Practitioner in Prescott. He also served as the Spiritual Advisor with the Native American Advisory Council for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Daniel believes that Spiritual growth is essential in maintaining ongoing recovery.

Elliott is House Manager of our Cottonwood facility and the newest edition to our family. Although it took him a few tries to finally ‘get it right’, he has been drug and alcohol free since May 2006. Born and raised in Kingman, Arizona, Elliott has worked at golf courses and in the construction of heating and cooling systems. He is a graduate of Yavapai County’s Drug Court system, a staff member of the V.V.C.T.C., and he was the first co-facilitator of the matrix model I.O.P. program. Elliott plans to go back to school to become a chemical dependence therapist.



Father SteveSteve Knight |  Resident Chaplain
"Father Steve" Knight is a retired Episcopal priest and Navy chaplain with 47 years of sobriety. He is active with Chapter 5 in teaching "Back to Basics", the method used by the first 100 people in AA recovery. His other ministries involve taking the program of recovery to hospitals and institutions.

Jessica Orick is our Admissions Coordinator and the liaison between treatment centers and Chapter 5. She is currently working towards her nursing degree at Yavapai College and hopes to someday work as a Nurse Practitioner in a treatment center. Jessica has first-hand knowledge of drug addiction and alcoholism through her loved ones, giving her empathy and understanding when relating with guests, family members and treatment centers.
Prescott Design ScapesPrescott Design Scapes, LLC (PDS) is an affiliated company of Chapter 5. While Chapter 5 is a 501(c)3, non-profit corporation, PDS is a for-profit business managed, staffed and operated by men in recovery. PDS performs commercial and residential landscaping and yard maintenance services. Chapter 5 men working with PDS must be in good health and pass a physical fitness test as the work is labor intensive. Outdoor work is very conducive to the physical, mental and spiritual growth which is the core of recovery from addiction.
