Shawna Dowd | Women's House Manager | Shawna@Chapter5Recovery.com
Shawna Dowd is the Women’s House Manager advocating for and serving individuals impacted with co-occurring disorders, substance abuse and alcoholism. She is in recovery herself with 4 years of sobriety. Shawna arrived in Prescott December 26, 2006 and has been an active member of the recovery community in Prescott ever since.
She is a National Certified Recovery Specialist (NCRS) and is trained and certified in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Co-Occurring Disorders and Recovery Coaching. Shawna is currently a member of Yavapai County Therapeutic Court staffing teams, Arizona’s First Collaboration of Service Providers, Networking for Solutions Committee and the Recovery Event Planning Committee.

Ryan is the House Manager of our Men's facility in Prescott. Having gone through the Sober Living by the Sea men's facility and the Prescott House, Ryan is experienced with facilities governed by the 12 step approach. He is an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and has lived in the Verde Valley area for the past two and a half years. Before coming to Chapter 5, Ryan worked at the Mingus Center in Cottonwood, AZ, where he gained experience working with individuals suffering from mental illness and co-occurring disorders using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the Matrix Model and the 12 step approach. He is a native of Arizona and has spent most of his life living in Tucson. He is planning on completing his college curriculum in social work and education.

Tony Rykowski is the House Manager at Chapter 5 in Cottonwood, Arizona. A native of New York City, Tony moved to Northern Arizona last year. He graduated from Brown University ('03) with a Bachelor's Degree in Theater Arts. Tony is currently a member of the Yavapai County Therapeutic Court staffing team and the Recovery Event Planning Committee. He has worked in the fields of finance, law and hospitality but has found his greatest passion in assisting others in recovery.

Elliott is Assistant House Manager of our Cottonwood facility. Although it took him a few tries to finally ‘get it right’, he has been drug and alcohol free since May 2006. Born and raised in Kingman, Arizona, Elliott has worked at golf courses and in the construction of heating and cooling systems. He is a graduate of Yavapai County’s Drug Court system, a staff member of the V.V.C.T.C., and he was the first co-facilitator of the matrix model I.O.P. program.
Elliott plans to go back to school to become a chemical dependence therapist.
Steve Knight | Resident Chaplain
"Father Steve" Knight is a retired Episcopal priest and Navy chaplain with 48 years of sobriety. He is active with Chapter 5 in teaching "Back to Basics", the method used by the first 100 people in AA recovery. His other ministries involve taking the program of recovery to hospitals and institutions.
