Robert Morse | Co-Founder & Managing Director, Chairman of the Board & CEO
Robert Morse is the Co-founder and Managing Director of Chapter 5, as well as owner of Robert Morse Associates, an international engineering and construction consulting firm. A recovering alcoholic and drug addict, Bob has been clean and sober for more than 25 years. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California, with post graduate work done at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the University of the State of New York. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a Captain and is a Viet Nam-era veteran. Bob and his wife, Karen, co-founded Chapter 5; together they have five children and nine grandchildren.
Karen Morse | Co-Founder, Director & CFO
Karen Morse is the daughter of an alcoholic and has been with her husband Bob prior to and during his recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. Before spending her full time as Co-Founder and CFO of Chapter 5, she had a successful career in construction and real estate. Karen is the other "Mom" to all of her "kids" at Chapter 5, organizing team athletics, picnics and other fun activities in recovery. She is well known for her surprise inspections of Chapter 5 facilities to ensure our high standards of cleanliness and safety.
James D. Atkinson | Director & Corporate General Counsel
James D. Atkinson has been the legal counsel for Chapter 5 since 2005. He is the principal attorney with the Atkinson Law Office in Prescott, Arizona. Admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 1978 and the Arizona Bar in 2002, Mr. Atkinson has over 28 years experience in business law and community association law. From 1991 through 2000, he served as the Chief Legal Officer of Arcadia Financial, Ltd., a multi-state indirect auto finance company. In his current practice, Mr. Atkinson represents businesses of all sizes from inception through transition. He is the legal counsel for numerous community associations, recovery homes and other non-profit corporations in northern Arizona. Mr. Atkinson is one of the founders of the Homeowners Association Presidents Circle, a group comprised of officers and directors of community associations. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Prescott YMCA and the Kiwanis Club of Prescott.
Gwen Henderson | Consultant
Gwen Henderson is an independent consultant/contractor for addiction recovery agencies, with ten years experience advocating for and serving individuals impacted with co-occurring disorders, substance abuse and alcoholism. Gwen is in recoveryherself with 12 years of sobriety. She currently serves on Chapter 5 Recovery Homes Board of Directors; Advocates for Positive Change Board of Directors; governing board for Yavapai County MATForce Substance Abuse Coalition; The Association of Halfway House Alcoholism Programs of North America, Inc. (AHHAP) Board of Directors (secretary); Project Aware, Inc Board of Directors; Yavapai County Adult and Family Drug Court Staff; Arizona Families First Collaborators Team; Yavapai County Adult Probation Networking for Solutions Committee; Arizona Recovery Housing Association Member (AzRHA); and Northern Arizona Housing Association (NAHA). Gwen has trained and worked for 10 years in the field of substance abuse, mental illness and continuum of care in various components (i.e., substance abuse assessor, housing specialist, case management services, program manager, general manager and executive director).
Marc J. Kroll | Director
Marc Kroll has 25 years of executive level sales management experience and is currently the Director of Corporate Account Sales for an environmental services firm. He is also a recovered addict with 20 years sobriety. Marc moved to Prescott from Indianapolis in 2003. Former Vice President and board member for "The Alano Club" in Indianapolis, he arranged several concerts as fund raisers for "The Dove House", a women's residential recovery house in Indianapolis. Marc has his Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA. He is married and the father of twins, Lucas and Amanda.
